That is an excellent idea. We are already working closely with USINPAC. Here is some of info about this.

USINPAC has been very helpful and has played a key role in guiding and helping us. We should all be Thankful to USINPAC for significant help that they have provided us.
AAPI is another group that has been instrumental in getting our provisions in the bill.
We have received positive results from many other groups. But no other group has been able to help us as USINPAC and AAPI.
If anybody has any such suggestion or could provide a lead to any other organization or personality, please let us know. This would help us all.

I have a feeling that the restrictionists may seek to attach HR 6283 along with the SKIL Bill to any appropriations bill...the restrionists have long been trying to cut family immigration (which they call chain migration)..what do you think?

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Do you know Dr. Woo or do you know someone who would know Dr. Woo? That would help a lot. Will initiate the contact with 80-20 initiative right away.

I never said we should keep quiet about it. I was only responding to an earlier post reagarding 'EB2 - elitist protectionism'. Just like you are within your rights to look after yourself, so is everybody else - welcome to capitalism. I have always maintained that going down the road of EB3 versus EB2 is detrimental to this group. Your post only adds to this.
In anycase I dont know how splitting visas equally between EB2I and EB3I can pass the smell test even if DOS were to implement it - there is a categorization that is already established AFTER the initial handout is made on an equal basis. The split completely negates it - at least to the extent any EB2ROW spill over is directed to EB3 when EB2 I and C are already retrogressed.
Lets not swear by capitalism but selectively resort to socialism.

is there anything that says that distribution further has to be done in a particular way ??

I think it depends on who the primary applicant is in your Canadian PR application. If you are the primary applicant (and used your spouce's qualifications to get the extra points), you should be able to do the landing alone. But if you are the secondary applicant and your wife is the primary then I don't think you can land without her.

but she's right. the US immigration law is extremely detailed and totally unforgiving. the country quotas being applied to employment visas looks like some lawyer gone overboard with putting constraints while writing the law, but now it is the law, and they don't change laws here unless there are votes or lot of money involved.

I just want to share some goods news from side.
All my checks got cashed today. I applied on July 23rd at NSC and got the receipt #'s from WAC.
I hope who ever is waiting for RN's they will get soon.

Whatever bluesky1 said is true...finally they opened our box. Today I called and rep gave me only I-485 receipt number and told me to wait for mail. USCIS likes everyone to wait for every thing......I have no more information but as soon as I get mail I will post all the info.
3rd july people should call now and I am definite we all were sitting in same box.
What a painful 100 days it was..................hopefully everything is correct on receipt...wait again and see.....

I got some good news. I called uscis just now and got two receipt numbers, one for 485 and one for EAD. Checks not cashed yet. I don't have the receipt number for AP yet. So it seems that our box is not lost and they're processing them, though so slowly. My application arrived on 7/3 at NSC, received by R. William at 9:03am.
Hope every one of us will receive our receipts, EAD and AP asap.

Yesterday, My lawyer sent me receipts for my EAD, AP and my wife AP.
Now I am waiting for my 485 receipt and my wife 485,EAD receipts. How it is possible without 485 receipts, I got EAD and AP receipts.
Any idea?

When is the next congress session? is it in Nov/Dec (the so called lame-duck session). I am wondering about chances of having some immigration measures during that session. Being a lame-duck session, do congressmen can take up a serious measure like immigration for discussion (either CIR or SKIL)? If not - is it possible to introduce some highly desirable stop-gap measures like: ability to apply for 485 during retrogession; recapturing the unused visa numbers from previous years with soft country limits (as is done a few years back); and faster backlog reduction at BEC�s. In short I am wondering about our strategy for next 4-5 months; and is there a hope - however small it maybe � hope of getting something done this year; Or our only hope is with next congress?
Talking about next congress - I was wondering about what is the best outcome for us during elections? Does democrats getting majority in both houses is better for us or is it other way? Or a combo is best for us (democrat majority in house with republican majority in senate).
Statutory warning: I know this post is full of questions of general nature (i.e. there is no definite answer). I am posting to discuss/speculate the chances of any immig measures making it in �06 or early �07.

I did called NSC IO yesterday and she said that my packet must have been in caught up in the front log.
Looks like all our 485 packets have been xfered to TSC from NSC. Hence SRCXXXXXXXXX

Except EAD checks, cashed all other checks on 9/20/2007(FP,485, AP and I have the receipt numbers). Does any body have similar issue...?

Thats right. I don't see any issues with EB1 or EB2 movement, For gods sake EB2 came to 2005, EB1 is current. It is funny when the other poster said we need to work for EB1 also(It is current, what else you want to do there?).
I feel IV has to concentrate on EB3 now. Period.
It's simple. USCIS needs to understand it's just a plastic card and nothing else. People who have applied are going to be here no matter what.The return percentage is going to be less.
The sad part is we are treated as citizens on all aspects. Social security, Medicare, Taxes, etc. etc. But not in the real sense. So US should realsise its after all a card and some benefits to the people things wont change. No amount of lobbying to fix the whole problem is going to help. The effort has to be concentrated just for EB3-Indians. Then we can expect some relief. Becasue we are talking about people who have been wwaiting for more than 8-10 years.
In India Lifesentences in prisons dont last more than 14 years. we could beat that record here. :)
