I got the e-mail saying that they have mailed my 485 approval notice on August 4 - but nothing after that - will the notice come to me at home or will it go to the lawyer - also how long before the card production e-mail gets here - not that I am in a tearing hurry - I have waited several years so what is another month ?

I can tell you - based on my observation from folks who have received the card before, within 7-10 days your card should be on its way to your HOME not LAWYER.

THis is a far far left amdnistration, which will never do anything to incourage Skilled immigrant population, because they need dumb masses to follow them like a herd of cattle...

If GCs were sold in stores I would buy you and your family a bunch of them.
You are in the EB3 category, do you ever wonder why somebody who is more educated than you or me, makes more money? Can we say, hey you I was born in 1890 I should make more money, it does not fly, EB3 is not a reflection on your skills but more the job you hold.
The question you should ask is why have EB1, 2, 3, etc?
Why do you not include the family based categories, isn't family first, why not the EB spill over to to FB first then whatever trickles down comes to EB, is not this fair? I am sure there are a lot in the FB queue who have waited for longer than you. Now dont tell you you are better than FB because you are highly skilled, pay taxes, etc.

VB date for EB3 is now un available.
In my case (EB2). The VB date is 15FEB04. Families VB date is 08OCT04(my spouse). Only 6months diff.

having been in the US since 2001, losing out my LC/PD to the dot-com bust and finally ending up with a PD of 2006, I second that. PD should be based on number of years of experience or years of stay in the US or amount of taxes paid till now or something like that.
In any case what we WANT is very different from what we usually get from this immigration system and there are bigger more important battles for IV to fight. Look, if there is no retrogression PD almost does not matter!! THATS the right fix. END RETROGRESSION!

Given that there are only a finite number of visa quotas, ending retrogression will make the GC a game of Inky-Pinky-Ponky. Either they give it to everyone (all the 800000 that applied) or they do FIFO based on date of entry in the US. If not, the present system of retrogression at least ensures that a person who came into the US in 2007 does not win the Inky-Pinki-Ponky game before a person like me in the queue since 2001. I agree that some extremely unfortunate people like you lose out, but it is still fairer than having no retrogression with the quota limitations in place, as that would be totally unfair.

Latest USCIS receipting up-date shows "July 29" for NSC. My application was received on July 31st. It seems my case is one more week wait....hopefully.

Finally we have decided to go back to India for good. I filed my EB3 in May 2003. Its going to be another 4 years to get the green card. When I went to India for vacation last December, we liked it over there & the economy is booming. There are all sorts of discussion regarding the Economic Gap/Politics/Corruption/Cleanliness. But we like it over there. Finally I will have an option to do something interesting. In US I was very much dependent on my monthly pay check and afraid to take even the slightest risk. I am also scared to use the AC21(Hey, thats the way I am). I am working with the same company for last 10 years, kinda stagnant in the last 4 years. In India, there are lots of choices, either to work for a sw company or start some business on my own. I think I will take the business route.
May be I can go there, earn well, send my son to US for college, do green card through him & come retire in US!!!

My checks got cleared at TSC today.
Previously
My 140 was approved at TSC, sent 485 to Nebraska on June 22, they received on June 25. I called to check status yesterday, the lady said to wait. On asking if case will be transferred to TSC and if TSC will generate receipts, she said she doesn't know, but it may take at least 2-3 weeks to process receipts at Nebraska.

I completely understand your pain. I have been here since 1998 and have a EB2 PD of 2002. And the dates are back to 2000. It seems like I can never get the ducks in a row. First my case gets stuck in PBEC. It take me 4+ years to get out of it. Then the RD at NSC is not current. When the RD turns current the PD retrogresses. Off course not to mention that I am waiting for name check to clear. The process is not linear. Some ppl are able to get thru it all in a very short time and some are stuck for years and years.
I have gone thru some of the depression that you talk about. The only way out for me to realize was that either I take it or leave it. That's how I view the whole process. If I am going to take it then I need to have a plan for what I am going to do with my GC. I know one thing for sure, I am going to take a long vacation as soon as I get it :) Just getting too old and tired for the same old same old.

I applied 1st EAD renewal for myself and my wife in August 4th. Still waiting.
Service Center: TSC
Mailed Date: August 4th.
USCIS Recived: August 6th.
Notice Date: August 13th.
Online shows as USCIS received those on the August 12th. Still waiting on EAD approval.
We mailed the AP documents for our family along with the EAD apps. APs for my wife and son were approved on the August 17th. Still waiting on the approval of AP for me.
I suspect who was processing our cases had gone on a big vacation.
